Japanese StudentsReady to start your American college experience right here at home? Depending on your English and academic background, Japanese students may apply directly to either Lakeland’s college program or English for Academic Purposes program. Please visit our Japanese website at www.japan.lakeland.edu for further details, requesting information materials or to talk with any of our Japanese admissions staff. Pre-Academic (English for Academic Purposes - EAP) StudentsFor those students who may need a semester or more to brush up their English or study skills, to those who want to start from the very basics, LCJ’s “EAP” program is here to prepare you for the full “American classroom experience”. The same as our college program admissions, students need to submit their high school transcripts and graduation certificate/diploma. A personal essay, as well as an English examination and interview (in English or Japanese) will help us find the right level for you to begin your studies in this program.
Transfer StudentsLCJ does accept transfer students under specific conditions and evaluations. High school transcripts, graduation certificate/diploma, and transcripts from your current institution will be required. In addition, a personal essay and English proficiency exam scores (ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS) may be required. Non-Traditional StudentsFor those who are looking for only part-time studies, LCJ may be the place for you! High school transcripts, graduation certificates/diplomas, a personal essay and English proficiency are required. An interview may also be required after evaluation of your application.
Military Benefits for StudentsLCJ is proud to accept students with military benefits. The admissions requirements will be the same as other full-time applicants (see admissions requirements for International Students), with the addition of your military benefit documents.
