Military Benefits
Lakeland College Japan Campus is proud to offer qualifying students with military benefits. We work closely with our home campus to determine eligibility and to assist students with obtaining their benefits. To find out more on how to receive your military benefits and begin your studies at LCJ, please contact the Coordinator for International Recruitment, Charlie Stockman, by e-mail at stockman@japan.lakeland.edu. Additionally, you can reach Mr. Stockman in the LCJ Admissions Office at (81) 3-3225-0425.
Lakeland College is State Agency Approved to certify all types of military benefits (with the exception of the Wisconsin GI Bill because we are a private college). The College's Veterans Coordinator, Carol Butzen, will process all appropriate paperwork on a semester-by-semester basis from the Lakeland College home campus (Wisconsin, USA). You can reach Ms. Butzen by telephone at (920) 565-6581 or (800) 569-2166, extension 6581. Or, you can e-mail her at butzencl@lakeland.edu.
If you are unsure of your eligibility for benefits, please contact your local VA Service Office, go to www.gibill.va.gov, or call the GI Bill Call Center at 1-888-GIBILL-1. Once you are certain of your eligibility, you can access all pertinent forms required to apply for your military benefits or to transfer your benefits to Lakeland College Japan from another college or university by visiting www.gibill.ga.gov. Complete all pertinent forms, and submit them electronically to St. Louis.
Veterans should notify Charlie Stockman of enrollment each term, and any changes in enrollment (add/drops/withdrawals). Failure to do so could result in benefits not being processed or in overpayment to veterans.
