Study AbroadLakeland College Japan offers overseas students the opportunity to earn U.S. college credits while living in Japan. LCJ is located in Tokyo's modern Shinjuku district, the largest business, shopping and entertainment district in the city, and the seat of the Tokyo city government. The LCJ campus is ideally situated only a 5 minute walk away from a station on Tokyo's newest major subway line which circles the central metropolitan area. CurriculumOur fully accredited liberal arts program allows students to meet a variety of course requirements while participating in the program. These courses are easily transferrable to their home campuses. Of special interest is our curriculum in Asian Studies, as well as Intercultural Awareness. These courses are designed to allow students to make connections between what they learn in class and what they experience outside the classroom, living in Japanese society. Japanese StudyLCJ is an ideal place for students to begin their studies of the Japanese language, or to begin their exploration of Japan and the Far East as a possible area of academic, professional, or personal interest. Program participants are encouraged to enroll in a credit-bearing Japanese language course. This course is taught by a native speaker of Japanese and is designed to help students make the most of their ample opportunities to learn Japanese while living in Tokyo. Free tutoring is available to help students meet the requirements of this course.
